Lagman with egg noodles
Experimenting with food is something that I love a lot, but to be frank, not all of my experiments turn into something eatable. This time it has turned out not only eatable, but even very-very tasty! And, as usual, I used the products that I already had at home.
All you need is:
LOVE, of course lol
But for this meal you’ll need:
salt, pepper, some herbs
I’m sorry I never measure my products in ml or g, I just use my God-given eye measure, and it helps.
So what we start with is fried onions. Chop the onions and fry them in a pot with a little bit of oil till it becomes nice and golden.
Then add in some chopped carrots.
I had a big one… but I eat half of it while cooking, so you see only another half of a big carrot in a pot.
Cover the pot and simmer the carrots till they become soft.
Here comes my favourite fragrance for almost all meals that I make. BAY LEAVES! I’m obsessed with it. I add 2 or 3 leaves in everything.
Now potatoes. I cut them in quite big pieces like 1.5 – 2 cm cubes.
Stirr in (precooked) chicken stock.
See the level of stock? Remember, everything is eye-measured, I don’t give strict instructions. Use your imagination and be creative at kitchen.
At this point I’m adding some salt and pepper. I don’t like too much salt, but pepper is never enough for me.
Add your chicken bits just on top of potatoes. This seems to be a layered cake in a pot lol
And yes, this is the chicken that I used to make a stock.
Some herbs / seasoning will bring the flavours up! Cover and let it simmer for a while.
When potatoes are soft and well cooked, add some chopped coriander (I can’t live without it, it helps in every single dish I make!), turn the heat off, cover the pot and let it stay for a minute.
Now the fun stuff. From last night I had some egg noodles leftovers, so without missing a beat I decided to add it in, too… I was afraid that it won’t taste any good, but you know, it turned out really delicious!
Let me know if you tried this and if you have any advices/comments/whatever, I’ll be glad to hear from you anyways!
