My first trip to Trikala, Greece
First of all, I must say that this wasn’t a holiday trip or anything related to fun. This was a totally business visit to one of our company’s clients. We planned to visit several countries and cities, and the trip started on September 29th, 2015 and was so amazing that I decided to make a few (or more) posts about my first touches with some of the countries of Europe.
Trikala (Greek: Τρίκαλα) is a city in northwestern Thessaly, Greece, and the capital of the Trikala regional unit.
The day started very early. I woke up at 4 AM (need I say that I barely had any sleep that night). The driver picked me up at 5-something AM and we headed to the airport. I love morning flights, when you are above the clouds and see the sunrise. This is the most incredible view ever! Needless to say how much I love flying on airplanes.
We flew to Thessaloniki first, and look what beautiful clouds were welcoming us during the whole flight!
When we arrived to Trikala it was too late and we were dropped off at the ANANTI CITY RESORT, which was just amazing! It was dark outside and you could see nothing in the window, but I was told that ANANTI CITY RESORT has one of the most beautiful views in Trikala. “We’ll see in the morning”, I thought.
The morning had a big surprise for me behind the curtains.
30 minutes later the whole landscape was smothered in fog, which was even more beautiful to me.
That day we’ve visited the amazing Meteora monasteries in the mountains. It was raining hard, but still we were overwhelmed!
We’ve spent 2 very comfortable nights at the ANANTI CITY RESORT and the next morning I left a thank-you note to the staff, took a few more pictures and then we made our way to Thessaloniki, where we had another meeting and a whole day off wondering along the promenade, which I will share with you in the next post.
